Aside from the suspension of Embassy's operations.. the government of Taguig has managed to throw yet again another ordinance that can dispirit even the most enthusiastic life of the party. (Oh well)Here are the new guidelines for clubbing and drinking, set to be observed in less than 3 weeks:1. Party life will now end at 2:30am because Taguig's nightspots would have to close down by then. Surely, these establishments will strictly follow the new ordinance lest TROs will also come raining on them. So much for merrymaking til sunrise.2. For private or house parties, you would have to buy your beers and wines a little earlier than the usual since manufacturers, dealers and retailers will now be prohibited to sell or deliver alcoholic drinks between 10pm-6am (although there's still a bright side to this.. they might actually give special permits to some establishments, allowing trade hours to extend until 2am. let's just cross our fingers that many liquor stores will try to kiss ass to get the special treatment)3. Even sari-sari and convenience stores are not spared from this big "peace&order" move. No neighborhood 711 can sell liquor once the clock strikes 2 in the morning. So really, you better start getting sufficient supply of bottles after bottles of alcohol now, if you don't want to end up "uhaw" when your system suddenly craves for booze in the most atypical hours of the day.4. And lastly, you can't just lie in some street and do your drinking there after the bars have closed their doors on you. People caught drinking in public places will get for themselves quite a huge fine of P500 to P1,000. But that's only for the first offense. If you manage to get caught again, you'll be charged with a penalty of about P1,000 to P2,000 including a few days of community service. And if you're not really into abiding by the law, a whopping P3,000 to P5,000 worth of penalty and a week of community service for the third offense await you.I think 3 major trends will come from this new ordinance - establishments may decide to transfer to other areas with no such law or those other areas may witness a mushrooming of prime party venues like the ones in The Fort/Bonifacio Global City and may finally get their fair share of the enchanting spectacle of the A-list crowd and all the party people dressed in their best as they come running towards other venue options; to satisfy some dancing feet or finish some 'chickspotting' business, the whole club scene may adjust and get the balls rolling a lot earlier, maybe as early as 8pm; or better yet.. and this may be easier on the budget..
